This week I discovered the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge and it’s all about ‘zooming in on the details’. As fortune would have it, the first bloom on the Clematis Jackmanii in the garden decided to open its petals to the world yesterday, providing an opportunity to crack out the macro lens in an effort to record the details of this lovely variety of Clematis. Every year this climber winds itself in, around and through a rose arch bearing a pretty pink single rose (taking over the show as the rose blooms are fading) continuing to flower until the middle of August, or later some years, and often flowering again in September.

For some time I’ve been looking  for a photography project and the Jackmanii’s journey over the next few weeks will fit the bill beautifully.
